There’s no question this is a powerful platform, but ‘5 minute install’ is sooooo deceptive.  I’m just hoping the 5 hours don’t become 5 days, but knowing my penchance for tinkering I think it’s likely.

Well, at least I’m “blogging” again!  Sorta.

Frankly, for a blog, that would NOT be WordPress.  Over the last few months I installed and experimented with Drupal, ModX, and ExpressionEngine, and while they all could work as a blogging platform, my goal to start 3 new blogs to flesh out my twitter and facebook postings was suffering while I dinked around in arcane code that was preventing me from blogging, not helping it.

So I bit the bullet, spent a day or two playing with TypePad, decided I couldn’t justify paying for blogging right now, and joined the masses on WP :P

At least it’s working in <5 minutes and I can start writing now, no more excuses!  Of course, I still need to design & theme it, add twitter & facebook sharing, SEO, most recent excerpts to my front page, find an Android blogging client, set up and theme and config the other two blogs… <sigh, here I go again>
